Grandmother Still Complaining About How Salty Memorial Day Cookout Food Was

A West Ashley grandmother has been complaining non-stop for two days about how salty the food was at the family Memorial Day get-together. Gilda Tisdale has been calling all of her children, friends and neighbors to vent about the level of sodium she was forced to ingest.

Gilda had the option of grilled chicken with steamed broccoli, but instead opted for seasoned chicken wings, French fries, and baked beans with bacon. Even after she made it known she felt the food was too salty, but she continued to eat the entire plate anyway.

Gilda’s friend Doris endured a forty-five minute phone call discussing the matter. “Gilda said she still has bad heartburn and says she feels bloated,” said Doris. “Then she talked about how much her doctor doesn’t want her to eat salt, and then I fell asleep, so I don’t know what else she rambled about.”

Gilda’s son Andrew has given up at trying to please her at this point. “There’s always a problem with what we eat wherever we go,” he said. “I even offered to make her something else, but she refused, like she was a martyr for eating our food. It’s like she looks forward to having something to complain about for the next week.”

Gilda is expected to stop complaining about the salty food this Friday when she becomes unhappy with her landscape service for sloppy yard edging. At that point, she’ll call her social circle again and tell everyone she thinks her landscaper is doing drugs.

I think I saw her on the laundry detergent aisle at the Teeter. She looked as though she was in a tiny bit of pain or discomfort. She belched just after we passed. I was having trouble finding the Seventh Generation display so I didn’t stop to see if she needed anything. I still feel guilty.
